“Hi! I am Sahani Khatun, a trafficking survivor. I was trafficked in 2016 and rescued in 2018. After joining a leadership program, I regained my confidence and learned to take charge of my life,” Sahani shares. From reopening her victim compensation case to completing her Higher Secondary education, she refused to let her past define her. Nurjahan Khatun’s Journey to Justice
Nurjahan Khatun, a trafficking survivor rescued at 17, overcame immense challenges to rebuild her life and became a Bijoyini Council Leader, advocating against child marriage, domestic violence, and trafficking. In 2019, she married Salauddin Mondal, but later discovered his deceitful past. Enduring financial exploitation and physical abuse, Nurjahan remained silent until she resolved to act. On October 30, 2024, with support from her family and legal counsel, she filed a domestic violence case against her husband at Haroa Police Station (Basirhat, West Bengal).
