Shakti

The Shakti Project, a collaboration between Sanjog and BUP, aims to combat the trafficking of women and girls for commercial sexual exploitation by focusing on prevention, survivor protection, rehabilitation, and reintegration into society.

Primary Strategies of the Shakti Project:

Handholding Support for Social Workers:

Focused on continuous mentorship, case management training, and real-time assistance to help social workers better support vulnerable individuals and improve service delivery.

Transition to Web-Based MIS:

The Shakti Program upgraded to a web-based system for improved data collection, centralized coordination, and enhanced decision-making, enabling real-time updates and better collaboration.

Capacity Building through TOT:

The program trained social workers in key areas like trauma care and legal advocacy, empowering them to mentor others and create a ripple effect of skill-sharing within the organization.

Strengthening Community Engagement:

Shakti focused on building trust, involving local stakeholders, and promoting community-based rehabilitation to support survivors’ reintegration and address vulnerabilities.
