Barasat Unnayan Prostuti
Barasat Unnayan Prostuti (BUP) is committed to transforming North 24 Parganas through a holistic approach to community empowerment and development. Focused on child protection and education, we raise awareness among vulnerable adolescent girls about the dangers of unsafe migration and trafficking, facilitating their rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration. Barasat Unnayan Prostuti supports children from brick kiln families, offering formal schooling for younger children and functional literacy for older youth to enhance their prospects.
Health and well-being are prioritized through collaborations with the German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association, delivering Directly Observed Treatment (DOT) for tuberculosis and organizing health and eye camps to provide critical medical services.
Women’s empowerment thrives through the development of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and access to microloans, fostering economic growth and independence. Environmental initiatives include active participation in afforestation efforts to address climate change. Through integrated programs addressing education, health, women’s empowerment, and environmental sustainability, BUP works to create lasting impact, alleviate poverty, and build a resilient, thriving community.
