Kushal Alo
The Kushal Alo initiative was launched to address the often-overlooked mental health
needs of pregnant and lactating mothers in rural West Bengal. Recognizing the emotional,
psychological, and social challenges faced by women during and after pregnancy, the
project aims to create a supportive environment that fosters maternal well-being.
Through regular mental health sessions, the program offers a safe space for mothers to
share their concerns, build emotional resilience, and receive guidance from trained
counselors. Beyond individual care, Kushal Alo focuses on community sensitization,
aiming to reduce stigma around maternal mental health and promote understanding
among families and health workers.
This initiative has not only provided comfort and psychological support during critical
stages of motherhood but has also empowered women to prioritize their mental well-being
as an integral part of maternal and child health.
