Initiated in 2018 and ongoing, the Sanhati Project by Barasat Unnayan Prostuti (BUP) aims to establish a safety net within the community to combat the rising issue of human trafficking, with a particular focus on protecting adolescent girls.
Initiated in 2018 and ongoing, the Sanhati Project by Barasat Unnayan Prostuti (BUP) aims to establish a safety net within the community to combat the rising issue of human trafficking, with a particular focus on protecting adolescent girls. With human trafficking persisting across all Development Blocks of North 24 Parganas, our intervention zeroes in on Amdanga and Gaighata Blocks. Initially, we targeted two highly vulnerable Panchayats, Beraberia and Sutia, for intervention, and subsequently expanded our efforts to include two more vulnerable Panchayats, Bodai and Shimulpur.
